Our Last Washington D.C. Pictures

These poles would light up and play a soft note when you touched them. They looked really  cool at night.

We did a lot of walking!

We also rode the Metro a lot, which Carrington really liked.  :-D

Inside Union Station.  It was really pretty!  There were quite a few shops and restaurants.

The Capitol.  We had to go through security before going in.  We couldn't even take a bottle of water with us.

The dome inside the Capitol.

There were statues of bronze and statues of marble, representing every state.

This painting is in the Capitol and is called "Baptism of Pocahontas".

Inside the Library of Congress.  It was beautiful!

Warren and I in front of the Capitol.

People inspecting the cracks in the Washington Monument.

Clayton in a Metro station.

Arlington Cemetery

We got to see the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

The National Archives ~ which contains the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights!!! I was THRILLED to see them!

The view from our hotel room window ~ not very exciting.  :-)

Getting ready to leave for the airport.

My kids went through this door at least 50 times, just for the fun of it.

Waiting for the airplane to head home.
